Grey Noise on digitaalinen kaksoisneulanreikävideo maisemasta ilman kameran objektiivin hallintaa. Kennolle tallentuu vähäisen valon myötä kohiseva suora kuva, johon ohi lentävät hyttyset aiheuttavat pieniä valotuksen muutoksia. Kaksoisvalotus synnyttää kuvaan haalean haamun ja vedessä liukuvalle hahmolle kaksoisolennon. Alkuperäinen vesiputouksen ääni on muokattu harmaan kohinan äänentaajuuskäyrän mukaiseksi, jolloin äänestä muodostuu matala, ihmiskorvalle miellyttävä kohina.

 Grey Noise yhdistää kuvan ja äänen kohinan temaattisesti kylmän veden tutkimiseen. Kylmässä vedessä ajattelu ruumiillistuu, kun veren kohina vaimenee ja pulssi tasaa. Veren sykkeen kanssa hidastuu myös aivojen kohina. Pohdin missä ajattelu tapahtuu, veden ja ihon rajapinnassako?

Grey Noise is a digital double pinhole video of a landscape, without the control of camera lens. The camera sensor records a straight image with noise caused by minimal light, in which mosquitoes flying past cause small changes in exposure. Double exposure creates a faint ghost of the landscape, and a dobbelgänger of the figure gliding through the water. The original sound of the waterfall has been modified to match the frequency curve of grey noise, creating a low-pitch noise that is pleasant to the human ear.

Grey noise intertwines the noise in the image and sound thematically in exploring with cold water.  In cold water, thinking becomes embodied as the noise of the blood subsides and the pulse calms down. At the same time as the pulse, the noise in the brain also slows down. I wonder where thinking takes place, at the interface between water and skin?
