Isääsi kuvaa vanhenemista väistämättömänä voipaisuuden menetyksenä ja tarttuu ajassa leijuvaan väkivallan uhkaan, joka kohdistuu erityisesti miehen ruumiillisuuteen. Teos käsittelee aikaa syklisenä ja monensuuntaisena. Ihminen on sidoksissa paikkaan ja aikaan suhteisena, kiinni toisissa ja maassa, lopulta maatuvana osana toistuvaa kiertoa. Teosnimi ehdottaa suhteisuutta – rakastaa, vihata, olla osa (isääsi). Se voisi myös viitata käskyyn kunnioittaa vanhempiaan. Samaan aikaan se on palindromi, joka mahdollistaa lopun ja alun ajallisen kääntämisen.

Isääsi (Thy Father)

2-channel video installation, stereo sound, 2026

Isääsi (Thy Father) depicts aging as an inevitable loss of power and addresses the threat of violence, which is directed particularly at the corporeality of the male body. In the exhibition, time is presented as cyclical and multidirectional. The human body is bound to place and time, attached to others and to the earth, ultimately decaying part of the repetitive continuum. The title of the work suggests a relation – to love, to hate, to be a part of (thy father). It could also refer to the commandment to honor one's parents. At the same time, it is a palindrome, which allows the end and the beginning to be reversed in time.
